As a single father, Kenyan music producer Tedd Josiah has faced numerous challenges in raising his daughter Jayjay. In a recent post, he shared his experience, highlighting the difficulties of being a solo parent.
According to Josiah, being a single parent can be overwhelming, but he wouldn't have it any other way. His daughter is his everything, and he is committed to being there for her.
He recalled a particularly challenging day when his daughter's nanny didn't show up, and he had to continue working while taking care of Jayjay. Josiah admitted that he was exhausted and questioned whether he should remarry, but then he remembered his late wife's request to 'hold the baby'.
Josiah interpreted this as a request to be present for their daughter always, and he has made it his mission to be there for Jayjay. He shared that his late wife's final coherent sentence to him was to 'hold the baby,' which symbolized not letting their daughter down.
Despite the challenges, Josiah remains committed to being a single father and has found motivation in his daughter. He believes that being a parent is a selfless act, and he is willing to 'hold the baby' because Jayjay is his reason, pivot, sanity, and motivation.
