On July 6, 2020, Tottenham secured a crucial 1-0 win over Everton, but the match was marred by a heated argument between goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and forward Son Heung-min.

The incident occurred at halftime, with cameras capturing the two players shouting and pushing each other. It took the intervention of teammates Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko, and Giovani Lo Celso to separate the pair and calm the situation.

According to reports, the argument stemmed from Son losing the ball to Yerry Mina, who nearly set up Richarlison for a goal. Lloris was reportedly angered by Son's mistake.

However, rather than criticizing his players, Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho praised the argument, describing it as "beautiful." He attributed the incident to his own demands for the team to be more critical of each other.

"That's beautiful. It's probably a consequence of our meetings and if you want to blame somebody for that it's me, because I was critical of my boys for not being critical enough of themselves with each other," Mourinho said after the match.

"I asked to be more demanding, to demand more from others, to put their colleagues under pressure, to give everything for every body," he continued.

Fortunately, the duo seemed to have made up shortly before the second half, as they were shown hugging in the tunnel. Lloris later described the incident as "just part of football sometimes."
