On Monday, July 6, 2020, Pastor Robert Burale took to Facebook to share the shocking news that he had tested positive for Coronavirus.

According to Pastor Burale, he had been struggling to breathe after recording a Facebook program on the previous Wednesday and was rushed to Nairobi Hospital, where he was tested for Covid-19 and confirmed positive.

He was immediately taken to isolation within the hospital, where he was met with a disturbing sight – old men fighting for their lives.

"I was really scared, but relieved to learn that my daughter was okay and Covid-19 free," Pastor Burale said.

He described the scene in the isolation rooms, saying, "As I walked through, I saw grown men fighting for their lives. I was scared."

Despite his initial fear, Pastor Burale is responding positively to medication and hopes to walk out of the hospital fine.

"For two days I fought for my life under the great care of the doctors and nurses at Nairobi Hospital… I saw the hand of God… my progress is good… my vitals are responding well," he said.

He also used the opportunity to advise Kenyans to take care, as no one is safe from the pandemic, and to remember the frontline warriors in prayer.
