On Monday, July 6, 2020, Kenyan celebrity pastor Robert Burale revealed on Facebook that he had been diagnosed with Covid-19 at Nairobi Hospital after experiencing breathing difficulties.
According to Burale, he was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday, July 1, after struggling to breathe, and was tested for the disease. The results were out 24 hours later, confirming that he had tested positive.
"I was shocked by the results, but my biggest fear was the status of my daughter," Burale wrote. "Thank God she is perfectly okay."
He described the experience of being taken to the isolation ward, where he saw grown men fighting for their lives, and expressed his gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Nairobi Hospital for their care.
Although he is responding positively to treatment, Burale warned Kenyans to take Covid-19 seriously and protect themselves and their family members.
"I saw the Hand of God... My progress is good... My vitals are responding well," he said. "For anyone who thinks this thing is a joke, may the Lord have mercy on you."
