COVID-19: Kenya Reports 181 New Cases, 4 Fatalities

Kenya's Ministry of Health announced 181 new COVID-19 cases on June 6, 2020, bringing the national tally to 8,067.

According to Health CS Mutahi Kagwe, the new cases were confirmed after testing 2,131 samples in the last 24 hours.

The new patients include 179 Kenyan nationals and two foreign nationals, aged between four months and 79 years old.

The cases were distributed across various counties, with Nairobi recording the highest number of cases at 134.

Additionally, the Ministry of Health reported 4 new fatalities, bringing the total number of deaths to 164.

However, the number of recoveries has increased to 2,414 after 127 more patients recovered.

The announcement came as the President of Kenya reopened worship places and lifted lockdowns, but extended the curfew for the next 30 days.
