On July 6, 2020, the Ministry of Health announced that the number of COVID-19 cases in Kenya had risen to 8,067 after 181 new cases were reported.
The new cases included 179 Kenyans and two foreigners, with ages ranging from four months to 79 years old.
The cases were distributed across various counties, including Nairobi (134), Kiambu (19), Mombasa (9), Kajiado (6), Machakos (6), Lamu (3), Murang'a (2), Uasin Gishu (1), and Kirinyaga (1).
Of the new cases, 123 were males and 58 were females.
The Nairobi cases were distributed across various sub-counties, including Dagoretti North, Embakasi East, Embakasi South, and others.
Four patients also succumbed to the novel coronavirus in various facilities, bringing the total number of fatalities in the country to 164.
