The African Union and AfroChampions Initiative are celebrating Africa's cultural diversity with a virtual festival, Boma of Africa, which kicked off on July 1, 2020, and will continue until July 7, 2020, marking Africa Integration Day.

As part of the celebration, the two organizations are calling on creatives and artists from across the continent, including Kenya, to participate in the Creative Arts Challenge and compete for a Sh5 million investment grant.

The challenge, which started accepting entries on June 12, aims to identify Africa's most powerful and undiscovered creatives and artists to plug them into regional development agencies and multinationals.

Participants will compete in eight categories, including cartoon, poem, short video, animation/game, fashion, visual art, short audio, and craft and culinary art, with three generous cash prizes up for grabs, in addition to the Sh5 million investment grant.

According to the organizers, this initiative will help African Champions communicate more authentically to a youthful African audience, rediscovering their spiritual connection to Africa's ancient culture.
