On July 1, 2020, renowned preacher Robert Burale found himself in a desperate battle for his life after testing positive for COVID-19. In a heartfelt Facebook post, he recounted his terrifying ordeal, from the initial shock to his eventual recovery.

According to Burale, he had been recording a Facebook program on the previous Wednesday when he began struggling to breathe. Rushing to Nairobi Hospital, he was tested for COVID-19, and 24 hours later, the results confirmed his worst fears.

'Unfortunately, you have tested positive for Covid and we have to now take you to the isolation ward,' the doctor told him, leaving Burale shaken and devastated.

As he navigated the hospital's isolation ward, Burale encountered the harsh realities of the pandemic. He saw grown men fighting for their lives, and the sight left him 'very scared.'

Despite the challenges, Burale's progress was good, and his vitals began to respond well to treatment. He credited the doctors and nurses at Nairobi Hospital for their exceptional care and expressed gratitude for the prayers and messages he received from his loved ones.

Reflecting on his experience, Burale urged Kenyans to be cautious and to remember the frontline warriors who risk their lives to keep people alive. He also humbly asked for their prayers, stating, 'The battle belongs to the Lord... We shall overcome.'
