On 4 July last year, Eunice Kaigai Glennie lost her husband, an event that would change her life forever. Exactly a year later, she launched Gire Limited, a company that appreciates and supports women.

Gire, the spirit of the Kenyan woman, focuses on products such as sanitary towels and baby oils. The launch event was attended by local power couples, including Size 8 and DJ Mo, Terence and Milly Chebby, Nameless and Wahu, and media personality Maureen Waititu.

Speaking during the launch, Eunice revealed that she started the company to honour her late husband's memory. 'A year ago, on a day like today, I lost my husband, and this company, Gire, was started to honor his memory,' she said.

Eunice, a mother of two, has gone through a lot as a woman. However, she remains unbroken and is determined to show that women can overcome any obstacle. 'I've gone through a lot as a woman, and I'm gonna show that you can be beaten and be down trodden but you can't be broken, and that's why I started Gire,' she said.

Advising fellow widows, Eunice urged them to fight and not allow the world to crash them. 'Fight. Do not allow the world to crash you. Just rise and know that up there, there are people ready to support. I want to give back to the society, especially to ladies,' she said.
