Manchester United have secured the services of midfielder Nemanja Matic until June 2023, after he signed a new contract with the club.
At 31, Matic has been a key player for the Red Devils since joining from Chelsea in 2017, making 114 appearances in all competitions.
"I am very happy that I will continue to be part of this great club," Matic said in a statement on the club's website.
With a strong balance of youth and experience in the squad, Matic expressed his excitement about being part of the team, citing the great comradery amongst the group.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer praised Matic's experience, professionalism, and leadership, stating that his attributes are a key part of the team's strength in midfield.
As United continue their 16-game unbeaten run in all competitions, they sit fifth in the Premier League table, just two points behind fourth-placed Chelsea in the final Champions League spot.
