Published on July 6, 2020, two members of staff at the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) have tested positive for Covid-19.

According to an internal memo sent by KBC Managing Director Naim Bilal, the affected staff have been isolated, and the station has activated protocols to prevent further infection.

"Despite our good efforts, it has emerged that two of our staff have tested positive for Covid-19. While appropriate protocols have been activated to prevent infection from the affected staff, the situation calls for enhanced personal responsibility within and outside Broadcasting House to protect ourselves, colleagues, families and others," reads the memo in part.

As a precautionary measure, KBC had earlier implemented various safety protocols, including the installation of 40 hand-washing and 25 sanitisation points at Broadcasting House.

Staffers were reminded to fully comply with government regulations and safety guidelines to prevent the spread of the virus.
