As we age, taking care of our skin and overall health becomes increasingly important. However, some morning habits can inadvertently make us look older than we should.

Published on July 6, 2020, a recent article highlighted several common morning habits that can accelerate the aging process.

One such habit is skipping regular exercise. While it may seem harmless to miss a morning workout, it can actually contribute to premature aging. Exercise has been shown to reduce the aging process by turning off aging in our chromosomes, increase circulation, and keep our skin looking younger and moisturized.

Another habit to avoid is excessive coffee consumption. While a single cup of coffee may be beneficial in the morning, drinking multiple cups can lead to increased stress hormones, such as cortisol, which can cause acne and make existing breakouts worse.

It's also essential to be mindful of our makeup routine. While makeup can provide confidence and a sense of self-expression, it can also accelerate the aging process by breaking down elastin and collagen, leading to wrinkle lines and dry skin.

Finally, over-exfoliating can strip our skin of its natural barrier, leading to dehydration and visible wrinkles. It's crucial to find a balance between exfoliating and allowing our skin to rest and recover.
