On July 6, 2020, Passion Incubator and First City Monument Bank (FCMB) launched the FCMB Agritech EPIC Pitch 2020, a virtual program aimed at supporting Agritech businesses in Africa.
The program, which is a virtual engagement due to the coronavirus pandemic, will provide early to growth-stage entrepreneurs with the resources they need to grow and scale their Agritech businesses.
According to the organizers, the initiative is geared towards building and accelerating the growth of Agritech startups in Africa, and helping young and self-driven Nigerian entrepreneurs grow their businesses.
The bank will invest N1.5 million into two successful startups from this program, which is focused on the following Agriculture value chain solutions:
- Processing/Production/Storage
- Agricultural Finance
- Agricultural Marketing
- Supply chain
Other benefits of the program include mentor support, access to workspace, market and networks that stimulate innovation, collaboration and business growth.
