On July 6, 2020, fans of the Kyallo sisters were left wondering if there was beef between Mercy and Betty after Mercy skipped Betty's salon relaunch and niece Ivanna's 6th birthday party.
However, in an interview with Mpasho, Mercy clarified that her absence was not a sign of ill will towards her sister.
"I was there in spirit," Mercy said, "and my support for my sister is unequivocal."
When asked about her relationship with Betty, Mercy replied, "She is my sister."
Laughing, she added, "Obviously, we are in good terms, but at the same time, we are sisters, and sisters go through highs and lows just like friends. But that doesn't mean anything."
Mercy continued, "Mercy and Betty are just like any siblings in this country. We fight, we love each other, we forgive each other, and we get back into fighting. It's just the same way, and I think wapendanao ndio wakosanao."
