On July 4, 2020, Baringo Woman Representative Gladwell Tungo's husband, Isaac Cherogony, died of suspected coronavirus at a hospital in Eldoret.
According to the legislator, Cherogony suddenly developed breathing problems at home and was rushed to the hospital, where efforts to resuscitate him proved futile.
Baringo Assembly Clerk Richard Koech sent a message of condolence, urging Kenyans to adhere to the government's measures to curb the spread of the deadly respiratory disease.
“It is a difficult time for the family of our Woman Representative and the people of Baringo, however, we need to open our eyes and realize that this disease is real,” said Koech.
He added, “Indeed we have not been keen on observing the protocols given… Everyone should take it as a personal responsibility to observe the guidelines given by the ministry of health to reduce the spread of the deadly virus.”
