Kisii Residents Burn Down Police Station in Protest

On July 5, 2020, a group of protesters in Kisii County, Kenya, stormed the Rioma Police Station in response to the killing of a local businessman by a police officer.

According to eyewitnesses, the protesters, who were demanding justice and an end to police brutality, used stones and other objects to attack the police station.

Video footage of the incident shows the protesters chanting slogans and singing protest songs as they approached the police station.

The protesters also set fire to the police station, causing significant damage to the building.

The incident is the latest in a series of protests against police brutality in Kenya, following a similar incident in Naivasha where police officers were attacked by protesters.

Police officers in Kenya have been accused of using excessive force against civilians, leading to widespread protests and calls for reform.

Residents of Kisii County are demanding justice for the killing of the businessman and an end to police brutality in the region.
