Inter-communal clashes have erupted at the border of Makueni and Kajiado counties, leaving at least two people dead.
According to reports, a 21-year-old man was attacked with a spear and died on the spot, while another succumbed to injuries at Makindu sub-County Hospital.
The two victims were ambushed by a group of 30-odd men armed with spears and swords in Mikululo Ranch, Kibwezi West constituency, during a night attack.
Michael Ndonye, a survivor who is admitted at Makindu Hospital, recounted the incident, saying he was with the two in a makeshift house when they were attacked.
Makueni County Commissioner Maalim Mohamed has assured that police have been deployed in the area to restore peace.
“This is not the first time. It happened before and we solved the matter,” Maalim said, as reported by The Standard on July 6, 2020.
