On July 4, 2020, a 32-year-old government officer, Edmond Parseen, died mysteriously in a hotel room in Narok town. The incident occurred while he was in the company of his girlfriend, who was also in the room at the time of his death.
According to Sub-County Police Commander Frederick Kinaipei, the police received information about the incident at 6:30 am and responded to the scene. Upon arrival, they found the body of the man in bed, naked, with a woman believed to be his girlfriend in the same room.
The police found a pack of unused condoms, a bottle of whisky, soda, and a bottle of energy drink in the room. However, there were no visible injuries on the body, and the scene did not indicate any struggle between the two individuals.
Parseen was a government officer working at the Ministry of Industrialization in Kisii County. He had booked the hotel room at 6 pm the previous day, and his girlfriend joined him later. The police are holding the girlfriend for further questioning to determine how they knew each other and what transpired before his death.
The police have launched an investigation into the matter and are awaiting the medical report on the components of the drink Parseen had consumed. The body has been taken to Narok County Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.
