On July 5, 2020, a tweet by @Disembe sparked a heated debate about Embakasi East MP Babu Owino's alleged inhumane behavior towards DJ Evolve's family. The tweet claimed that Hon. Babu Owino had not contacted the mother of DJ Evolve, despite a court order prohibiting him from making contact with potential witnesses in the case.
However, a video shared on social media two days prior revealed a different side of Babu Owino. In the video, John Orinda, the father of Felix Orinda aka DJ Evolve, revealed that Babu Owino has been footing his son's medical bills since he was discharged from the hospital.
According to Mr. Orinda, Babu Owino facilitates the nurses who attend to his son day and night, paying them for their services. In his own words, Mr. Orinda said, 'We have nurses who are attending to him day and night and it is the MP who facilitates them. So mimi naweza sema sio mtu mbaya sana vile watu wanafikiria (therefore I cannot say he’s as bad a man as is being portrayed).'
