Published on July 5, 2020, Ruth Matete's long wait to lay her husband, Beloved John, to rest has finally come to an end.

Beloved John, a pastor, tragically succumbed to injuries sustained in a gas cylinder explosion at their home, leaving Ruth, a gospel artist and former Tusker Project fame participant, heartbroken.

Months after the incident, Ruth was still unable to bury her husband due to allegations made by a friend of Beloved John, suggesting she might have been involved in his death. However, postmortem results ruled out any foul play.

Radio Citizen presenter Jerida Andayi, a friend of Ruth Matete, appealed to the public to help Ruth give her late husband a dignified sendoff.

"Finally! My lookalike and little sis Ruth Matete can now bury her husband. God is good. Kindly support her to give Pastor Beloved John a good sendoff through paybill 891300 Account number 39659. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. It's been tough. God has shown Himself," Jeridah Andayi posted.

The couple had only been married for a few months and were expecting their first child. Ruth's social media accounts were even deactivated due to the backlash she faced.

With Beloved John finally laid to rest, Ruth can now begin the healing process and find closure.
