Germany's nursing profession has undergone significant reforms since the passage of the nursing profession reform law in June 2017. One key change is the introduction of a new generalist nursing education program, which began in 2020.

At the gfg Rostock, trainees in the first two years of the generalist training program learn alongside their peers in elderly, health, and pediatric care. This integrated approach allows them to develop a broad range of skills and knowledge. In the third year, trainees can choose to specialize in one of these areas or pursue a career as a nurse or care expert.

The new generalist nursing education program offers several benefits, including no tuition fees, a generous coaching allowance, and the flexibility to switch between different care professions. Trainees also gain more responsibility and independence in their work, and their qualifications are recognized in other EU countries.

For more information on the new coaching following 2020, please contact us. We can also offer training in health and geriatric care, as well as the shortened geriatric care instruction at the gfg Rostock.
