On Sunday, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Siaya conducted a covert operation that led to the arrest of a 23-year-old suspect.
According to reports, the suspect, Kelvin Oduor Onyango, was nabbed during the operation and a firearm reportedly stolen from a police station last year was recovered.
The stolen firearm, a G3 rifle, was taken from the Umala Police Post in late 2019, along with 13 rounds of ammunition.
Additionally, a One Kenya Army trouser, a police raincoat, and a smoke jacket were confiscated from the scene.
The suspect is currently in lawful custody as further investigations continue.
