On July 5, 2020, Lugari MP Ayub Savula was taken into custody by police while driving in a convoy to Busia.
According to reports, the MP was arrested at Sabatia market while refueling his car.
He was subsequently taken to Mumias Police Station, where he is being held until he can be charged with violating COVID-19 regulations.
