On July 4, 2020, Isaac Cherogony, the husband of Baringo MP Gladwell Tungo, succumbed to COVID-19 at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) in Eldoret.
According to reports, Cherogony had been experiencing breathing problems and was initially taken to an Eldoret Hospital for treatment.
Medical personnel cordoned off the lawmaker's home for contact tracing, and Tungo was also tested for the virus, with her results expected to be released later that week.
Cherogony's death was reported on July 5, 2020, just a day after his passing.
