On July 5, 2020, a Kenyan plane suffered an air accident after crash-landing in Bardere, Gedo region in Somalia under unclear circumstances.
The plane, a Fokker 50 registered under 5Y-WFC, belonged to Buff Air Services, a cargo and passenger airline established in 2015.
According to Somalia Correspondent Harun Maruf of Voice of America, the aircraft suffered a tyre burst when attempting to land at an airport in the area.
"Kenya plane crash lands at Bardhere town airstrip after tyre bursts on landing, no injuries reported," Maruf tweeted.
Initial reports indicate that no serious injuries have been reported after the crash.
Buff Airline has its offices at Wilson Airport, Nairobi, Kenya, and also offers chartered flights.
Aviation Safety Net claimed that Fokker 50 suffered a right-hand main gear collapse on landing at Bardere Airstrip in Somalia.
This incident is the latest in a series of accidents involving Kenyan planes in Somalia airspace.
On May 4, African Express crashed near Bardale Town in Somalia, killing all six people on board who were ferrying medical equipment.
On May 25, a Kenyan plane, registration number 5Y-VVA, was shot by unknown individuals in Qansahdere, Bay Region in Somalia while carrying humanitarian supplies.
