On Friday, July 3, 2020, police in Homa Bay raided a rental house in Sango Estate, Homa Bay town, where they found 35 primary and secondary school students taking alcohol and smoking bhang.

According to Arujo Location Chief Bob Lang'o, the police received a tip-off from the public about the youngsters' activities, which were causing a disturbance in the neighborhood.

Police arrested 15 girls and 20 boys, but later released them due to lack of space in their cells.

Chief Lang'o also arrested the landlord, Patrick Ayieko, for allowing children to conduct immoral activities within his compound.

Parents and guardians of the children have been summoned to report to the police station on Monday.
