Published on July 5, 2020, gospel singer Ruth Matete has finally been given the green light to bury the body of her husband John Olakanmi Apewajoye, who passed away three months ago.
Ms. Matete had expressed hopelessness just three weeks ago, fearing she would never be able to lay her husband to rest.
However, in a recent turn of events, gospel show host Ms. Jeridah Andayi shared the news on her Facebook account, asking Kenyans to assist the singer in giving her husband a proper sendoff.
Ms. Andayi posted, 'Finally! My lookalike and little sis Ruth Matete can now bury her husband. God is good.'
She also asked members of the public to support the singer financially, providing the pay bill number 891300 and account number 39659.
It is worth noting that Pastor Apewajoye died following a fire incident on March 30, 2020, at their home in Great Wall estate, Athi River.
Ms. Matete has previously been questioned by homicide detectives over the death of her husband, with an autopsy revealing that he died due to multiple organ failure.
