July 5, 2020 - The Black Lives Matter movement is set to revolutionize the global fashion and beauty industries, creating job opportunities and products catering to a broader range of consumers, according to model Naomi Campbell.

Speaking to Reuters, Campbell, a 34-year veteran of the industry, expressed optimism that the movement would bring about significant changes, including more opportunities for Black people as designers, stylists, and makeup artists.

“Now the whole world is on the same page. The voices are coming out now... and I look at that with optimism that we will get our change,” Campbell said.

She also predicted that companies would expand their cosmetics ranges to match more skin tones, citing the example of Band-Aid, which recently announced plans to launch a range of bandages to match a variety of skin tones.

Earlier this year, Campbell had called for Vogue magazine to launch an African edition, and while Conde Nast, the publisher of Vogue, declined to comment on future business ventures, Campbell revealed that the company was working on bringing a Vogue Africa edition.
