Botswana has taken the top spot as the country with the best police force in Africa, according to the World Internal Security and Police Index (WISPI) report published in 2020.
The report, proposed by Mamdooh Abdelmottlep and designed by experts across the world, ranked Botswana as the number one country with the best police force in Africa.
Kenya's police force, which has faced criticism in recent months over brutality meted against civilians during the COVID-19 pandemic, did not make it to the list of top 14 best police forces in Africa.
However, there are ongoing police reforms in Kenya aimed at restoring lost public confidence in the Service, even as pressure continues to pile on Inspector General Hillary Mutyambai to end police brutality.
Other countries that made the top 14 list include Rwanda, Algeria, Senegal, Tunisia, Egypt, Burkina Faso, Ghana, South Africa, Morocco, Mali, Sudan, Malawi, and Burundi.
Botswana's ranking is a testament to the country's commitment to maintaining a well-organized and effective police force.
