Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga is expected back in the country soon after undergoing a successful surgery in Dubai, according to his wife Ida Odinga.

Speaking at the Jaramogi Odinga Foundation offices in Nairobi, Mrs Odinga expressed gratitude to well-wishers who donated food, masks, and sanitisers for distribution to vulnerable members of society in Nairobi's 17 constituencies.

She noted that the majority of those affected are women who lost their jobs after restaurants and companies in the Industrial Area were shut down due to the coronavirus outbreak.

“Baba will be home soon. He is recuperating well and he will be back to join his people,” Mrs Odinga said.

She called on well-wishers to continue helping the needy during this difficult period of the coronavirus pandemic.

Makadara MP George Aladwa echoed her sentiments, attending the brief ceremony at the Jaramogi Odinga Foundation offices.
