Mass testing of truck drivers in Busia County has been severely hampered by a shortage of testing kits, with the county recording 452 cases as of Friday, majority of them being truckers.
According to Dr. Joseph Oprong, the head of the Department of Public Health in the county, the limited kits have forced them to opt for selective testing in high-risk areas.
“Due to limited kits, we have opted to do selective testing especially in high risk areas,” Dr. Oprong said.
Angry youth in the area had earlier disrupted the testing exercise, claiming that people had been ferried into the area for testing.
