On June 20, Joshua Simel Poria reported two cows worth Sh205,000 stolen from his farm. The case took a surprising turn when the missing animals were found at John Gachie's farm in Ruai.

According to the owner, he discovered the cows at Gachie's farm and posed as a customer interested in buying them. Gachie allegedly offered them for sale, unaware that they were stolen.

John Gachie was charged with stock theft and handling stolen goods. He denied the charges before senior resident magistrate Steve Jalang'o of Makadara law courts.

The suspect was freed on a cash bail of Sh5,000. The hearing of the case is set to start on September 23.
