Published on July 4, 2020, a shocking incident unfolded in Homa Bay, where 35 minors, aged 13 to 17, were arrested after police raided a party.
According to reports, the party was raided in Sango Estate, where police found drugs, alcohol, and used condoms. The minors, 20 girls and 15 boys, were taken into custody.
Police boss Sammy Koskey stated that the owner of the house has been arrested, and the parents of the minors are expected to appear at the police station on Monday for questioning.
“We’re likely to charge them with abdication of duties as parents,” Koskey said.
Similar incidents have been reported in the past, including a case in Kisii where 38 teenagers were arrested for engaging in various forms of sexual activities at a party.
County Commander Jabel Munene reported that at least 14 used condoms were found at the scene, and the teenagers were taken to a pre-quarantine centre for a 14-day quarantine period.
