On July 4, 2020, a massive explosion shook Somalia's capital Mogadishu, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

A vehicle crashed into the wall of a compound next to the port at around 7:30 am, causing a massive blast that sent shockwaves through the city.

Emergency personnel rushed to the scene, but details were scarce as they worked to contain the situation.

According to police, they would provide more information later, but so far, no group has claimed responsibility for the early morning explosion.

The area is frequented by casual labourers looking for work at the port, especially in the early morning hours.
