Published on July 4, 2020, Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has made his expectations clear regarding a potential new contract with the club.
Aubameyang, 31, is reportedly seeking a three-year deal, which would see him become one of the highest-paid players at the Emirates Stadium.
According to ESPN, the Gabon international is also demanding a significant wage increase, with a weekly salary of up to £250,000 (approximately KSh 33 million), making him the second-best paid player at the club after Mesut Ozil, who earns £350,000 per week.
With his current deal set to expire, Aubameyang's demands have left Arsenal fans in limbo, although manager Mikel Arteta remains confident that a new deal is on the horizon.
Aubameyang has been instrumental in Arsenal's success this season, scoring 19 goals and cementing his position as the Premier League's top scorer. His brace against Norwich City on Wednesday further solidified his status as a key player for the Gunners.
However, the uncertainty surrounding Arsenal's European participation next season has cast a shadow over Aubameyang's future at the club. The Gunners are yet to establish their summer budget, and several players, including promising youngster Bukayo Saka, have already committed to long-term deals.
