Debarl Inea's Firing Sparks Wild Reactions from Kenyans

Published on July 4, 2020, Debarl Inea, a celebrated media personality, has sparked wild reactions after being fired by Nation Media Group-owned station NTV.

Debarl Inea, who used to host the breakfast show 'AMLIVE,' thanked the media house for the opportunity to work with them in a tweet. He wrote, 'It was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair. Thank you NMG for the opportunity. Work continues apace.'

Many Kenyans have taken to social media to express their disappointment and shock at Debarl Inea's firing. Some have argued that NTV was wrong to let him go, while others have encouraged him, saying he will get another job because he is good at what he does.

Debarl Inea is not the only one who has been fired by NTV. A list of eight renowned reporters and anchors who have been terminated has been made public. The list includes Brenda Wanga, Sharon Baranga, Shaban Ulaya, Harith Salim, Lillian Kiarie, Silas Apollo, and Ken Mijungu.

Ken Mijungu, who had confirmed his departure from NTV via his social media pages, tweeted, 'The axe fell @NTVnewsroom and I was on its way. 7 years in those corridors summed up in a two-page letter of termination. We live to fight another day. Thanks to God, He remains the greatest, thank you @ntvkenya for the opportunity and thank you for always staying tuned.'

Reactions to Debarl Inea's exit from NTV have been mixed, with some people expressing their disappointment and shock, while others have encouraged him to stay positive and focus on his future.
