As the world grapples with the COVID-19 pandemic, many of us have turned to reading as a way to escape and learn. We spoke to Patricia Kiwanuka, Managing Director of Revenue Stream, and Prisca Aroko, a voracious reader, about their favorite books and reading habits during this time.
Patricia Kiwanuka, a self-proclaimed bookworm, has a diverse reading list that includes 'Twin Ambitions, My Autobiography' by Mo Farah, 'Our Iceberg is Melting: Changing and Succeeding Under Any Conditions' by Holger Rathgeber and John Kotter, and 'Dinner with Mugabe' by Heidi Holland. She also enjoys reading spiritual reflections and gratitude journals.
When asked about her reading habits, Kiwanuka revealed that she buys books in advance and enjoys re-reading old favorites. She also finds time to read during her travels, often devouring books at airport lounges or between movies on flights.
Prisca Aroko, on the other hand, is a voracious reader who sets a goal of reading 52 books per year. She has a theme for her reading list, which this year includes books authored by CEOs and books on business and money. Aroko also enjoys reading memoirs, inspirational books, and political books written by people who have battled challenges in life.
Both Kiwanuka and Aroko emphasized the importance of reading in their lives, citing books that have shaped their perspectives and helped them grow as individuals. They also shared their favorite genres, with Kiwanuka enjoying spiritual reflections and Aroko preferring business, memoirs, and inspirational books.
