On July 4, 2020, Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith were forced to issue strong statements about their marriage following rumors that he'd caught her with another man.
The couple found themselves at the center of a scandal nine years ago after America's InTouch magazine printed a bombshell story.
The report alleged that the Hollywood actor had been left in tears after returning home to find Jada with Latin pop star Marc Anthony, who was married to Jennifer Lopez at the time.
Anthony was Jada's co-star in the TV drama Hawthorne, in which they played onscreen lovers.
Both Will, 51, and Jada, 48, issued statements insisting their marriage was still intact, with Jada strongly denying allegations of an affair with Marc.
Her spokesperson said, "All the rumors regarding Marc Anthony and Jada are false. Completely untrue."
Will's rep added, "Although we are reluctant to respond to these types of press reports, the rumors circulating about our relationship are completely false. We are still together, and our marriage is intact."
It was later revealed that Marc had split from his wife Jennifer a month before the story was published.
