Published on July 4, 2020, reports from Kamagambo Police Station indicate that seven people were picked by law enforcement officers and health officials on Friday morning for not wearing masks in Migori County.
They were arraigned before a Rongo court and fined Ksh. 1000 each.
According to reports, a similar crackdown is being carried out in Suna East Sub County by health officers in collaboration with the security officers.
Stanley Atachavi, Suna East sub county police boss, said they have arrested and charged over 30 people who were found not wearing masks in public.
Mr. Atachavi emphasized that the public must choose between wearing masks worth Ksh. 30 or paying a fine of Ksh. 5,000 for not wearing masks.
