On July 4, 2020, former Gor Mahia striker Jacques Tuyisenge reflected on his time at the club, naming his favourite squad from his three-year tenure.
Tuyisenge, who joined Angolan giants Petro Atletico in mid-2019, expressed his appreciation for the club's fans and the way he was welcomed during his time at Gor Mahia.
“Gor Mahia is a very good club with very lively fans. I enjoyed every moment of my time at the club and I will forever be grateful for the way they welcomed me to the club and made me settle fast and have a nice time,” he said.
Tuyisenge's preferred starting lineup consisted of Boniface Oluoch in goal, with Musa Mohammed, Harun Shakava, Eric Ouma, and Karim Nizigiyimana forming the defence. The midfield trio included Collins “Gattuso” Okoth, Khalid Aucho, Francis Kahata, and Kenneth Muguna, while Meddie Kagere and Tuyisenge himself made up the striking duo.
During his time at Gor Mahia, Tuyisenge scored a total of 64 goals in 129 appearances, with 96 of those coming in league matches and 33 in Cup competitions.
