On July 3, 2020, Sports, Culture and Heritage Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed became an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, marking a significant milestone in her illustrious career.
During a ceremony at the Supreme Court in Nairobi, Chief Justice David Maraga presided over the admission of 198 new advocates, including Amb. Amina.
With her admission, Amb. Amina is now officially licensed to practice law in Kenya. Her academic background is impressive, having graduated with a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Law from the University of Kyiv in Ukraine and a Postgraduate Diploma in International Relations from the University of Oxford.
Amb. Amina's extensive experience in the field of law includes serving as Cabinet Secretary for Education and Foreign Affairs Ministries, Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, Chairperson of the WTO General Council, Ambassador and Permanent Representative for the Kenya diplomatic mission in Geneva, Legal Adviser in Kenya's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Legal Adviser to the Kenyan delegation at the UN Security Council.
