Comedian Jalang'o has made a surprise move by joining KISS FM, a popular radio station in Kenya. This comes just days after his colleague, Andrew Kibe, left the station.
According to sources, Jalang'o was previously fired from Radio Milele, which is operated by MediaMax. The move has sparked speculation about his future at KISS FM, particularly with regards to his potential partnership with Kamene Goro.
Andrew Kibe had earlier cited censorship as the reason for his departure from KISS FM. In an interview, he stated, 'I gave my notice three months ago because I was being censored on the content I could put out on national radio.'
It remains to be seen how Jalang'o's arrival will impact the station's ratings. Data from GeoPoll shows that the breakfast show hosted by Kamene and Kibe had gained a significant following, with 716,000 listeners in May 2020.
As one of the highest-paid morning show comedians, Jalang'o's move to KISS FM has generated significant interest. The comedian had hinted at a possible return to Radio Africa, where his media career began.
