Former Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe has sparked speculation about her potential entry into Murang'a county politics in 2022.
Maribe, who has been receiving numerous inquiries from her fans about her political ambitions, said she is still weighing her options.
"The truth is that it's something I've been thinking about, but I haven't made up my mind yet," Maribe said in an Instagram interview with Mista Dru.
Maribe's father, Babake, has previously run for the Kiharu parliamentary seat in Murang'a twice without success.
Maribe's fans have been urging her to follow in her father's footsteps and contest for the seat currently held by Sabina Chege.
However, Maribe's father may have a tough time if she decides to enter politics, given his past electoral losses.
Maribe's career in journalism was cut short after she was implicated in the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani, alongside her ex-boyfriend Jowie Irungu.
Both Maribe and Irungu were released on bond and are awaiting trial.
