On July 3, 2020, Kenya's COVID-19 cases reached a milestone of 7,188 after 247 new cases were reported.
According to Health CAS Rashid Aman, the new cases were from 4,147 samples tested in the last 24 hours, bringing the cumulative samples tested to 180,206.
Of the new cases, 242 were Kenyans, while 5 were foreigners, with 164 males and 83 females. The youngest case was a one-year-old infant, while the oldest was 100 years old.
The cases were distributed across various counties, with Nairobi recording 153 cases, Mombasa 35, Kajiado 15, Busia 12, Kiambu 12, Uasin Gishu 4, Machakos 4, Garissa 4, Murang'a 2, Nakuru 2, Siaya 2, Lamu 1, and Nyamira 1.
Two more patients have succumbed to COVID-19 in Kenya, raising the death toll to 154.
However, 39 patients have been discharged, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,148.
