On July 3, 2020, the Chechen Republic leader Ramzan Kadyrov confirmed the death of Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, the 57-year-old father and trainer of UFC star Khabib Nurmagomedov, due to coronavirus complications.
Abdulmanap had been hospitalized for almost three months after testing positive for the virus and suffered a heart attack before his passing.
Khabib Nurmagomedov, who has 28 wins in his professional career without a loss, has not issued a statement on the death of his father.
Abdulmanap played a significant role in helping his son become the UFC lightweight champion of the world and was always by his side before and after fights.
