Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko made headlines on July 3, 2020, after he was spotted driving his brand new Cadillac Escalade.
According to a video shared by the governor, he was cruising at speeds of up to 100km/hr in the swanky black SUV.
He was dressed casually in white trousers, a T-shirt with writings on it, and a white denim jacket with metal studs.
Security officials were forced to disperse a growing crowd of locals who gathered around the car after they got wind of the governor's presence.
As the crowd grew, Sonko decided to give out money for them to share, explaining, 'I don't have a permit to convene a meeting so please observe social distancing.'
He then hopped into the black van and was back on the road.
The 2020 Cadillac Escalade is a full-size, body-on-frame luxury SUV available in four trim levels, equipped with a 6.2-litre V8 engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission.
