Kenyan Woman Makes History at US Military Academy

On July 3, 2020, Lesa Kilonzo, a Kenyan woman, celebrated her graduation from the US military academy, marking a significant achievement in her life.

According to her Instagram post, Lesa described her journey to joining the uniformed forces as one of the most difficult things she has done in her life.

"It's been one hell of a ride!! One of the most challenging things I've done in my life (unplanned and unprovoked lol)..Today I'm grateful coz we graduated!!!!" she wrote.

Lesa, who moved to the US from Kenya on a Green Card, explained that she made an application to join the military after realizing that the US military used to recruit people even if they were not legally in the states, but the policy had changed.

Her achievement has inspired many Kenyans on social media, who congratulated her and expressed pride over her accomplishment.

Many also took the opportunity to ask for guidance on how to join the US army, highlighting the interest in serving in the US military.
