On July 3, 2020, Chief Justice David Maraga presided over the admission of 198 new advocates to the bar, including Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed.

CS Amina revealed that her admission was gazetted in 2013 but she opted to delay for personal reasons.

She earned a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Law from Kiev University in early 2000 and a postgraduate diploma in International Relations from the University of Oxford.

Despite obtaining a diploma in law from the Kenya School of Law, which grants permission to become a high court advocate, Amina had not been able to practise law in Kenya.

She expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity, saying, "Thank you very much. I am most grateful to God for this opportunity even though it comes seven years after gazettement in 2013. Thank you to the team for freeing up time for me to finally sign the roll,"
