Police have revealed the real reason behind YouTuber Myka Stauffer and her husband James' decision to rehome their adopted autistic son Huxley. The couple, who adopted Huxley from China three years ago, had faced intense backlash from fans after announcing they were finding a new home for their four-year-old son.

According to a police investigation, the couple had to hire a full-time caretaker to ensure the safety of Huxley and their other children, citing that Huxley had shown aggression towards their other kids.

Police investigated a string of welfare check requests after Myka and James announced they had rehomed Huxley with another family. A report obtained by BuzzFeed News through a public records request claimed that the couple had filmed Huxley's aggressive behavior and had gathered documentation from multiple therapists.

However, the couple ultimately decided it was an 'intolerable situation to continue' and rehomed Huxley. On Tuesday, investigators confirmed that the couple would not face any charges after determining Huxley was not being abused and that his re-adoption was legal.

Deputy Susanna Leonard said, 'As far as the talk of possible human trafficking against [Huxley], it was determined that the process of his adoption is being conducted legally.'

Myka, 33, had previously spoken out to defend herself following the backlash, apologizing for the hurt caused and taking full responsibility for her decision.
