On July 3, 2020, Chief Justice David Maraga presided over the admission of 96 new advocates to the Bar, including Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Culture, and Heritage, Amb. Amina Mohamed.
Amb. Mohamed, who has held various high-profile positions, including Cabinet Secretary for Education and Foreign Affairs, has a strong background in law, having studied at the University of Kiev in Ukraine and the University of Oxford.
She was congratulated by several Kenyans on Twitter, including Prof. Tom Ojienda SC and Rose Wachuka, who praised her dedication to the country and her personal accomplishments.
With her admission to the Bar, Amb. Mohamed becomes the latest addition to the list of high-profile individuals who have joined the legal profession in Kenya.
